Tirana’s new Urban Plan

According to him, the regulation plan considers the National Park at the Polytechnic University a construction area.

“The lake park between the University and the National Guard will turn into a development area. It seems they had no time to negotiate, but simply turned it into a construction area and they will decide later what to build”, Lame declared.

Lame says that there are other spaces that will be removed from the National Park, and will be used to build diplomatic residences.

“The entire area of the Martyrs’ Cemetery is left outside the park area, and considered a construction zone. In fact, it was bought by foreign diplomatic agencies and was surrounded for building their residences. Another area was bought by another diplomatic agency. There are two others under negotiation”, Lame says.

Lame blamed Mayor Lulzim Basha for the accidents caused by the construction site near the Palace of Brigades.

“After they destroyed everything, they cut hundreds of trees and destroyed some part of the Palace of Brigades, together with its surroundings. We warned that the construction site could cause accidents”, Lame declared.
