Dozens of men and women have been protesting for several days now
against the decision for not allowing them anymore at the Sharre
landfill. They pretend that the decision that was taken by the Tirana
Municipality is favoring a private company.
The residents have come from different areas of the country, many years ago, and have found this work as their only means of living.
Self-employed at the Sharra landfill for years, these residents demand to be left to work again.
Tirana, wastes guarded with police
Dozens of men, women and children that have worked for many years at the Sharre landfill, have not been allowed to work anymore.
An institution that has not pronounced itself in public, has decided to sent the police to stop these employees from doing their job for collecting wastes.
All the individuals that have worked in this area for many years used to earn 500 to 2000 ALL each day. Some of the Sharre residents have been self-employed for years.
