Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future
The Tirana Prosecution handed over to the Court of Appeal the request
for the imprisonment of the former National Guard commander, Ndrea
Prendi, his former driver, Margarit Kume, and the IT specialist at the
Council of Ministers, Armando Kasa.
The appeal was made a few days after the Tirana Court gave the house arrest measure for the defendants, while the Prosecutors had presented the same request.
The former National Guard commander is accused of intentional murder, after referring to the FBI expertise, which indicates that Ndrea Prendi’s gun had fired 11 bullets, one of which took the life of protester Faik Myrtaj on the January 21st protests.
The Court left the General in house arrest, arguing that the documents for the seize of his weapon were not signed by the General. His driver, Kume, is accused of obstructing justice by concealing evidence, after changing the barrel of his weapon with that of his General, while the IT specialist is accused of deleting the footage from the server of the Prime Ministry’s security cameras.
