Besides the Community Fund, the Tirana Municipality has started another initiative, that of green terraces on apartment buildings.
The project has been realized three years ago on the municipality’s building. A new one was built recently on the faculty of Architecture and Urbanism.
For this project, which brings a new culture I the way how buildings are projected, the Municipality of Tirana is reviewing several propositions.
One of them is to continue with all public buildings, creating something that can be followed by private ones.
The second proposition is to use co-funding for private buildings.
Thankfully, GEF, Europol and Eco-Movement have co-funded this effort, but in private buildings, this could be done with the community fund, after the administrator comes with an application, Mayor Veliaj said.
