Tirana Municipality plants 200 trees: “Best way to reduce natural disasters”

200 new trees were planted at the southern part of Unaza e Re, part of the Orbital Forest.

“As you have seen, rains and floods have caused landslides wherever trees and shrubs were cut and removed. We have been destroying the work of a lifetime to resolve the work of one hour. I invite citizens, whoever has the possibility, to do something concrete and plant trees and shrubs, or at least to not cut the existing ones. This is the only way to compensate the damage we have made to nature the past years”, Veliaj said.

The Mayor added that the Tirana Municipality will continue to plant trees until Spring, and he reiterated his appeal for contribution to apartment building administrators to plant a tree wherever they can.
