Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Municipality of Tirana has undertaken an action for cutting the
trees at the Andon Zako Çajupi Street, the 23 eucalypts planted in the
time of the Italian occupation.
This action has created dissatisfaction among some citizens, while others have favored it, saying that the trees had grown too much and their branches were becoming a danger for the pedestrians.
Top Channel interviewed many passerby citizens, whose opinion was divided. Some agreed that the dangerous branches should be cut, not the trees, others support the action.
In Tirana there have been several discussions, and the Municipality has even offered special policies, by appealing the citizens and private businesses to contribute in increasing green spaces.
