Tirana Municipality Chief Councillor resigns

After the June 23rd elections, when the Socialist Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration joined their forces even for the Municipal Councils, the left councilors decided to discharge Kosovrasti and replace him with Aldrin Dalipi.

But the procedure was considered illegal by the Democratic Party councillors and Kosovrasti himself. Since then, the Municipal Council has entered a stalemate.

The head of the Council, Njazi Kosovrasti, announced his resignation by adding that for this he had also notified the Mayor of Tirana, Lulzim Basha”, Kosovrasti declared.
