Tirana Mayor: “Arberesh Albanians, powerful friendship bridge with Italy”

Veliaj visited the artisan fair of the Arberesh and valued their community as a powerful friendship bridge between Italy and Albania.

“Albanians have travelled in many placed, but they haven’t found in every country a welcoming community like this. It is a compliment for Italy to be considered a country with an open mind and open heart”, Veliaj said.

The Mayor made a presentation of Tirana during its transition period, focusing especially on the developments of the past two years.

“We have decided to not repeat the mistakes of the past. We will not be happy with just resolving the emergencies of the moment, but by investing in the future. We have decided to build a stable development model for the city, and to confront the needs of the present without endangering the needs of the future. Let’s not act thinking as if there is no more future after our term is over. We must invest for the Tirana of the next generations”, Mayor Veliaj said.

Veliaj and the President of Abruzzo planted a friendship tree on Piazza Italia.
