The Tirana Municipal Council meeting started with harsh debates and ended with a boycott by the Socialist councilors.

The head of the Socialist councilors, Aldrin Dalipi, denounced a regulation infringement, since in the meeting voted councilors without a mandate.

“It was voted in an illegal way. We oppose today’s agenda, because we have had no time to review the decisions. We will leave the Municipal Council meeting”, Dalipi declared.

Basha: Let us solve our problems through dialogue

The Mayor of Tirana, Lulzim Basha, offered his readiness to dialogue about the points that can be discussed, but the left-centered councilors refused.

“I invite you to discuss in a civilized way the matters on which we have disagreements. Talk with the representatives of your councilors’ groups about the mandates. Let us discuss it and find an agreement, and avoid the boycott practice”, Basha declared, expressing his regret for the decision of the left centered councilors.

“I express my regret about this decision. I hope that they will abandon this old practice”, the Mayor declared.

Basha: New jobs and facilitations for businesses

Basha presented a series of propositions for the economic development, among which was the development of the free enterprising in Tirana.

“We see a Tirana open for the free enterprising, with more jobs for all young people, with and without university diplomas. Jobs for everyone, jobs as the main commitment for Tirana’s Municipality”, Basha declared, promising facilities for the enterprises that create new jobs.

“We will create a good environment for those who open new jobs in the enterprising sector, which has not had the municipality’s cooperation until today”, Basha underlined.

Basha: Soon, the consumers agency

The Mayor of Tirana announced the establishment of the Consumer Protection Agency, which, according to him, will make their lives easier by taking under control the merchant’s price speculations.

“We will establish the Consumer Protection Agency, which will offer transparency of the market products. The establishment of this agency will enable new services to the consumers. The Municipality will not close the eyes against price increases”, Basha added.
