Tirana, initiative against abusive prices

The Municipality of Tirana has found another way for stopping the
abusive price increase of food products, by offering the premises of the
Palace of Culture to the merchants who want to sell food products with
wholesale prices.
“After the tendencies that we noted yesterday for the speculative price increase of the food products, today we are reacting through this market. We addressed to all honest merchants that have correct relations with the consumers to apply normal prices, without abuses. To these merchants the Municipality will offer the city center to sell their goods”, declared the Vice Mayor, Edmond Panariti.
Each year, the food sellers abuse with artificial price increase that burden the citizens’ pockets. The government undertook inspections in the last two weeks, while two days before the New Year they offered this new space for answering to abuses.
