Tirana Municipal Police has started the action against the merchants
that have not freed the public spaces within the deadline assigned by
the Municipality.

The Municipal Police declared that all sidewalks will be cleared by subjects that have not paid taxes for the occupied areas.

“The action will take one week and will be mainly conducted on weekends. It started from the Municipal Units 1 and 2, and will later extend throughout Tirana”, declared the Municipal Police.

Last Sunday, the Tirana Municipality warned all street vendors and bars that have placed their tables on the sidewalks to free the public spaces until October 1st.

“Tirana Municipality is determined to implement law. The vendors are warned to free the sidewalks, and also the bars that have occupied them with their tables”, declared the Municipality Spokesperson, Anila Bisha.

Two weeks ago, the Municipal Police undertook an operation at the Rinia Park for freeing the areas that according to them were illegally occupied by the bars for using them as parking spaces.

The director of the Municipal Police also debated with the managers of the “Taiwan” complex, which is in this area of the park. He also added that all areas that have been illegally occupied will be freed.
