Tirana flooded. Problems in Durres too

A heavy rain has flooded most of Tirana’s main roads. Although
meteorologists had warned about the rain, the Municipality did not clean
the canalization. This happened not only with alleys, but also the main
streets.
The most problematic situation was created at the Brryl Area, where each year the Lana River floods the houses around.
The opposition councilors at the Municipality said they have warned the Mayor several times. Meanwhile, Mayor Basha has gathered the emergency committee.
Problems were also seen in the Durres city and port.
Most of the streets were blocked for pedestrians, while the commercial ships in the port stopped their activity. Two ferries of the bari-Durres lines have arrived 30-45 minutes late.
The situation was critical in the main streets of Durres, and many houses were flooded. The houses near the hills are fearing once again the landslides. Many houses were flooded and the main cause is the lack of maintenance of the drainage system.
