Tirana, fire at cooking oil factory

A strong fire burned down a cooking oil factory in Vaqarr, Tirana.
The fire broke up during the first hours of the morning, while the causes still remain a mystery.
No one was wounded, while the factory suffered severe damages. The quick intervention of the firefighters saved the production line equipments and the oil deposits of the factory. The flames damaged only the storage area, where there was a considerable quantity of produced oil.
Two days before, another similar fire broke up in a foam factory, near Kruje, by even endangering the workers’ life , three of whom were wounded while trying to leave the factory premises and were sent to hospital.
Another similar fire also took place this Saturday in the Tirana-Durres highway, which involved a gas station. Some workers were using welding equipments near the gas deposits, and the catastrophe was avoided only thanks to the quick intervention of the firefighters and police. This fire left three people with light injuries.
