Lulëzim Basha, Democratic Party’s candidate for Mayor of Tirana, visited the Polytechnic University earlier this day.
He promised that if elected as Mayor, Tirana will offer to the students many commodities, starting from university facilities reconstructions and practical life facilities.
The key element is the student’s card, which will give the students the possibility to travel free and to avoid many fees beyond the usual Municipality partners.
“All shopping centers will offer reduced fees, starting from food and many other services”, Basha declared.
This is not the first time that the student’s card is object to political promises. Some days ago, the opposition reminded that the student card was also promised on 2006 by Prime Minister Berisha, who, according to Socialist Veliaj, also spent 60 million ALL (420,000 Euros) so that every student received this card.
G99 Party, when leaded by Erion Veliaj, distributed a student card that offered reduction of fees for a limited number services by the G99 partner network.
Candidate Basha avoided controversy on this matter, and this was the answer he gave to a student:
“On 2006 I was Minister of Transport. I have kept every given promise and I have completed every project”, Basha declared.
Candidate Basha promised to increase the number of students from 80,000 to 100,000, promised to offer 100 excellence scholarships, the Mayor’s Prize for 10 top diplomas and also to ease the job market for students.
