The dialogue table between political parties was mentioned as a positive step even during the meeting of the European Council with the Albanian government.
EC commissioners visited Tirana to discuss on the fulfillment of the 12 recommendations that are necessary to grant Albania’s EU candidate status, now paralyzed by political crisis.
“On this regard, the dialogue table between parliamentary groups and political parties, which is scheduled today to talk about OSCE ODHIR recommendations, will be a promising indicator to our efforts for a calm election climate. Albanian government does not have the key that solves every political problem.
However, we will do everything that is under our competence and responsibility to keep progressing, while welcoming and involving every one’s good will to make this dream real”, declared Minister of Integration Majlinda Bregu.
“Like you mentioned before, there are activities being held as we speak, mostly about political dialogue between parties, and this is without a doubt a welcomed event, since dialogue is the main key to succeed on this electoral process”, said Stefano Stannino, vice general director of EC.
On this two-day long seminar, EC representatives will give their suggestions about the government’s priorities on the recommendation achievement plan.
