Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future After the awareness campaign against illegal parking in Tirana, the
Traffic Police reported a record number of fines, with an average of 600
fines each day.
Despite the campaign for making people aware by distributing flyers, bad parking remain a big problem for the Albanian capital. The chief of Traffic Police, Ramadan Kopani, tells for Top Channel which are the most problematic streets.
“There are problems at the Myslym Shyri Street, and in the streets where there are open markets. We have given 600 fines each day, in average, but this doesn’t mean that the fines will be increased if there will be problems”, Kopani says.
The citizens contacted by Top Channel at the Myslym Shyri Street say that it is difficult for them to find a parking, and for this they have to violate the traffic rules. Law foresees that parking violators should be fined from 500 or 3000 ALL, to the towing of the vehicle.
Traffic Police declares that the campaign will continue without a given deadline.
