The Socialist Party MPs have visited the hunger strikers who blocked the
main entrance of the Komuna e Parisit Street, asking solidarity for
this category.

Prime Minister Sali Berisha accused the hunger strikers yesterday of holding a political strike, which has increased the fury.

The Socialist MP expressed their solidarity and asked the government to find a solution for this category of people.

“Berisha called you ‘scum’, he said that this is a political strike. This has no room for politicization, but a right that belongs to you with all human reasons”, declared the Socialist MP, Sajmir Tahiri.

The strikers were also supported earlier the day by the Ombudsman, Igli Totozani.

“Our office will treat their requests, but what is more important, the state institutions must start a discussion and negotiation dialogue with everyone who is involved. They are Albanian citizens, have their requests and we must negotiate with them”, Totozani declared.

On the 14th day, two of the strikers were sent to hospital for a medical intervention.
