For the third consequent year, the Municipality of Tirana and the Agency of Parks and Recreations have organized the “Green Track” bicycle race, with 100 amateur and professional cyclists.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, joined the race and said that this sportive activity aims to raise awareness among citizens that bicycle is a healthier transportation solution in a city like Tirana.
Veliaj said that the race has turned into a beautiful tradition for the capital, putting Tirana into the agenda of cycling as a sport.
Veliaj said that their priority is to build 10 kilometers of bicycle lanes in the city which will not only guarantee safety, but will also make vehicle circulation a bit easier in the capital.
The Mayor said that this year will be great for those who want to use bicycles, and he appealed young citizens to be more engaged with sports.
