Third 3G license tender failed

Low offers brought the failure of the tender for the third 3G license in
the Albanian mobile phone market. The Electronic and Postal
Communications Authority closed the offer evaluation process within 60
minutes, in a competition held between two mobile companies.
Both companies gave lower offers than the minimum, which can be seen as a single for lowering the cost of the 3G license. Although the decision was unanimous, the companies have the right to appeal.
The first 3G license in Albania was given on October 2010, and the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority cashed 31.4 million EUR for this service. The second license was given on September 2011 for 15.1 million EUR.
