The Special Appeal Court left today in force the “house arrest” measure against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi.

According to the official announcement “The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, with Iliriana Olldashi as judge, decided on the ‘Approval of the decision of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime'”.

Earlier, Berisha and Malltezi were taken as defendants for the issue of privatizations of the premises of the former Partizani sports complex.

Malltezi appeared again today at the offices of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, where he declared:

“The Prosecutor’s Office has not entered the file in the official notebook and this shows the political bias. They have made it clear that the following was to be the same measure. We told the court that the prosecutors lied. There is a special judicial code for Edi Rama and a special code for Sali Berisha. Rama stole land in Gjipe, this I declared in court”, Malltezi stated before SPAK this Friday.

On him weigh the accusations of “Passive corruption of high officials or local elected officials” and “Cleaning of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity” related to the privatization of the former Sportiv Partizani club.
