
During the Western Balkan forum “Friends of Europe”, held in Brussels, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that without assistance from the EU, Albania would have been unable to realize the important reforms that are undergoing.
“EU accession should not turn into an illusion. Without EU assistance, we wouldn’t be able to carry out the important reforms, such as the Judiciary Reform, which we are doing because we want to be part of the European Family”, the Prime Minister declared.
Rama added that after decades of conflicts, Balkan is facing a new situation: “I hope that the member states will agree with the EU. We want EU in a better shape, sot aht we benefit maximally from this synchronization of reforms”, Rama said.
When asked about the EU dream in the region, Rama answered that “The EU dream is to be part of a family with clear rules, where everyone respects the rules, the rule of law, so that we can have a state with strong institutions. This is about being part of a family that represents unique values”, the Prime Minister declared.
