The Inspectorate of Territorial Protection of the Municipality of Tirana, has continued today with the demolition of the remaining part of the National Theater.
This time it was the wing of the Experimental Theater ‘Kujtim Spahivogli that was thrown to the ground, with heavy duty machinery.
What is left of both buildings is now only the waste, which is being taken away in trucks.
The municipality decided to demolish the National Theater because of his age and lower building quality, but it was in fact its antiquity that caused the Alliance for the Protection of Theater to protest, saying that it should have been preserved for the historical and cultural values it carried.
