In the Albanian city of Vlora, the birth of babies has again marked a decrease this year.
The head of the service in the maternity hospital of Vlora, Harilla Thanasko shows that so far, during this year, there have been 750 births in Vlora, while last year they were 850.
“The birth trend is declining. If before ’97 the figures ranged from 3000 – 3200 births per year, now they range from 1200 to 1100 in decline.
“The pandemic has not affected the reduction of figures, while there is no study to confirm this fact”, adds the doctor.
“I have my first child, I will definitely not stay with one child,” says a young mother.
“He is the third child, I had no worries about the pandemic,” said another woman. “She is the first child, she will be born today, I have a son, I had a very smooth pregnancy, I will definitely have another child.” There were also cases of Covid in Vlora during pregnancy.
