David Jones, the Commander of the Second Squadron of the American Army
that operates for ISAF in Afghanistan addressed to Feti Vogli’s family
with a letter in which they explain the circumstances of the Captain’s
death.
“Allow me to express my sincere condolences for the loss of your dear. Feti was carrying out an extremely important humanitarian mission on the day when the tragic incident took place. He was exploring the ways how a school and a health center could be built in an area called Robat, where the local community has vital needs for better education and health infrastructure.
Feti was carrying out a recognition mission at the Boldan Spin District, Southern Afghanistan, together with his contingent of the Albanian Special Forces, Eagle 4, and other troops from the Cavalry Squadron and Afghan Police troops. During the operation, a turncoat Afghani police agent, without any warning, opened fire and hit Feti and two other Coalition soldiers. One Afghani Commander tried to react fast and neutralize the aggressor, but Feti’s wounds were very severe.
Jones explains the reaction and behavior of Feti after this surprise attack, considering it as heroic:
“I assure you that Feti is a hero, and he will have our highest honors as we continue our Mission to Afghanistan”.
