The prestigious British newspaper, “The Guardian” writes that Tony Blair
is expected to enter an unknown territory if the Albanian Socialist
Party will win the next Parliamentary elections.

The Guardian writes that the Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, met last month with Tony Blair in London, and although there is no official agreement yet, Rama expects advises from Blair for modernization reforms towards the European Union.

The newspaper writes that the former communication director in the Blair government, Alastair Campbell, has visited Albania and advised the Socialist Party for its electoral strategy.

The Guardian writest hat although the electoral campaign has been peaceful so far, there are several news reports about irregularities and efforts to buy votes.

According to the Guardian, Rama is expected to defeat Berisha, who has dominated the political life in the last two decades. A recent poll of the Alliance gives Rama 50% of the National vote, seven points before Berisha’s.

A few days ago BBC also wrote that the Albanian elections are seen as an important test for Albania’s European Union membership.

“The campaign was bitter even this time. There have been disagreements regarding the representation of the opposition in the Central Election Commission; regarding the reliability of the voters’ lists, accusations for buying votes and government pressure on the public sector employees”, writes the British media giant.
