
After the Government of Kosovo udnertook a police operation
on July 25th, for taking under control the Customs checkpoints 1 and 31
in the border with Serbia, now they are devising another plan for
returning these checkpoints to full functionality.
The plan is predicted to be implemented from September 16th, based on the agreement between Prishtina and Belgrade for recognizing the Customs stamps.
The government has announced that after coordinating the plan with the international factor, they will start its implementation for gradually returning these border checkpoints to functionality. The real challenge is the counter response of the local Serbs in north and the implications of Belgrade in that area.
The Interior Minister of Kosovo, Bajram Rexhepi, declared that on the days to come, Northern Kosovo will be swept by several protests of Serbian citizens. While reporting at the Parliamentary Commission for Security, Mr. Rexhepi declared that the operation plan is in its final phase.
