The funeral of former Minister of Culture, Esmeralda Uruci

Family members, friends, colleagues and students gave their final good
bye to the former Minister of Culture, Esmeralda Uruci, who died at 51.

The Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, was among the people that paid the honors.

“We are here to say the last good bye to Mrs. Esmeralda Uruci, who has been a Minister, a woman that wanted to work and make career in academics and politics. She is an old friend, since high school, whose death was very premature. I express my condolences to her children, husband, and all her relatives”, Topalli declared.

The Socialist MPs honored the former Minister Uruci, who has contributed in the academic area.

The Chairman of the Media Commission, the Socialist MP, Valentina Leskaj, focused on her kindness.

“I want to express the condolences of the SP for this loss in such a young age, and her contribution in the political life will always be very precious, her contribution as a woman and as a Minister of Culture, through which she offered kindness to everyone”, Mrs. Leskaj declared.

Prime Minister Berisha was not able to participate in the ceremony, but his wreath and condolences were present.

The former Minister died this Wednesday at the Neurological Hospital after being involved in a car accident on 17 December 2011. Uruci was involved in politics in 2000, when she was a member of the government cabinet led by the then Prime Minister Ilir meta.
