Three weeks before the International Leading Group meeting that will
mark the end of the supervised independence, the Kosovo Prime Minister,
Hashim Thaci asked his cabinet members more dedication in fulfilling all
obligations for this issue.
According to Thaci, the European Union must produce more arguments for the Integration Process of Kosovo and that it will be realized without compromises for anyone that will challenge this process.
“There will be no compromise that will justify this process. It is our duty to be responsible and push the process forward. This is what we must do not for the EU, but for the interests of our country”, Thaci declared.
Speaking about the EU presence in Kosovo, EULEX, which is expected to continue until June 2014, Thaci declared that he is expecting the local structures of law and order to increase the capacities.
“I can say this, although the EULEX presence should not serve as a justification for our officials, so that they can be more active for sensitive issues”, Thaci added.
The Kosovo Parliament has approved the first draft-law for the amend that will end the supervised independence.
The draft law is expected to be complete with the start of the autumn session. The second week of September for this year will be “the week for the ending of the supervised independence”, and it will be celebrated solemnly.
