The Specialized Prosecutor in the Hague further adds in the statement against Kosovan president Hashim Thaci and former Speaker Kadri Veseli that he deemed it necessary to issue this public notice due to their repeated attempts to obstruct and sabotage the work of the Special Court.
According to this court, it is believed that Mr. Thaçi and Mr. Veseli have secretly undertaken a campaign to repeal the law created by the Court and otherwise obstructed the work of the Court in attempting to avoid justice.
Contacted by VOA, the Kosovo president’s office said it did not comment on the prosecutor’s office’s announcement.
President Thaçi, stated his office, is already on his way to the United States where a round of Kosovo-Serbia talks mediated by US envoy Richard Grenell, will be held on Saturday at the White House.
