After returning from New York, the Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci
expressed his readiness for ending the work started in Northern Kosovo.

After the government meeting, he declared that they will continue to remove the roadblocks and implement the operational plan that was created some weeks ago, in cooperation with the international community.

Thaci expressed this determination one day after four KFOR soldiers and some Serbians were wounded at the Jarinje border checkpoint in Leposavic. According to him, this Tuesday did not happen what should have happened.

“We will continue to implement the operational plan with responsibility. We will remove the roadblocks and nothing will impede the establishment of law and order in north”, Thaci declared.

The Prime Minister condemned the violence of the Serbian extremists against KFOR and EULEX, while he appealed the local Serbs to show good will for cooperation and return to peace. He promised that they will have the Kosovo Government support.

The Kosovo PM declared that the problems in north have been there for many years, and cannot be solved quickly.

“The problems that have been created in 12 years cannot be solved in 1 or 2 months. More important is the fact that it has started well and we are implementing the operational plan for the border checkpoints 1 and 31”, Thaci underlined.

The Prime Minister also informed the press about his visit at the UN, declaring that the meetings with several world leaders reconfirmed their support for Kosovo’s territorial integrity.

As regards the dialogue With Serbia, he declared that Kosovo is committed to continue it, but he didn’t comment about the declarations of the Assembly Members, who declared that with Serbia there will be only political dialogue, reminding that Kosovo had also agreed for the dialogue.
