Thaci reports in Parliament

The division of Kosovo, autonomy for north, the model of Catalonia in Spain or that of Southern Tiroli will never happen in Kosovo, according to Thaci, who was applauded by the Democratic Party MPs.

“I want to make it clear to the present MPs and all Kosovo citizens that this association is in full accordance with the Constitution. It will have no executive or lawmaking role. This is very clear. It cannot be a replacement of the communal meetings, and the responsibilities of the communes cannot pass to this mechanism. We will never allow the creation of a third power in Kosovo, but we cannot stop Serbia from dreaming it”, Thaci declared.

Parliament Speaker Jakup Krasniqi declared that if this dialogue is made for normalizing relations, then this language was not seen in Belgrade or Prishtina.

The association for the communes of Serbian majority have spurred harsh debates in Parliament. PM  Thaci says that they will be according to the Constitution of Kosovo and the Ahtisari package, without executive or legislative powers, as it was also requested by the LDK.

The Self Determination Movement criticized this position, saying that the association for the communes of Serbian majority is an internal division of Kosovo, and approving this is considered treason.

“Thaci is cooperating with Serbia and betraying our country. These agreements are only personal, from Thaci. He promised that there would be no technical dialogue, and that the political dialogue has ended in Vienna. The dialogue is not only for the north, but for the entire country. For how long should we hear lies from this Prime Minister?”, declared Albin Kurti, leader of the SD movement.

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo asked the Prime Minister to include their representatives in the meeting.

The next meeting between Thaci and the Serbian Prime Minister will be held on March fourth in Brussels.
