Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi emphasized in today’s government
meeting that the status quo will have no turning back. (UPDATE)

He also accused Serbian officials that are circulating in that part of the country of inciting tensions and of collaborating with smugglers.

“Unfortunately, Serbian officials are still making clandestine entrances in Kosovo, and are the only politicians in Europe that make such movements. The state of Kosovo insistently finds these Belgrade officials as direct responsible for the violence in Northern Kosovo”, Thaci declared.

According to him, these officials have close ties with the northern smugglers; they support the road-blockers and stand among them after the barricades.

“They have been seen accompanied and protected by armed paramilitaries; therefore, the state of Kosovo considers these officials as violators of human rights. They are deceiving, are paying women and children to stay behind the barricades”, Thaci added.

The Prime Minister reemphasized that determination of Kosovo institutions for reestablishing law and order in northern Mitrovice.

He added that July 25th police action has been completely illegal. He also underlined that the Kosovo institutions will continue their work for establishing law and order.

“Belgrade knows that Kosovo is a sovereign and independent country, hence our decisions were constitutional, legal, right and irreversible. We are demanding the implementation of a full constitutional and legal state”, Thaci underlined.

“When I emphasize that Belgrade was informed about the decision of Kosovo government, I emphasize it because they know it very well that the government of the Republic of Kosovo will not tolerate smuggling, crime, paramilitary groups and Serbian Interior Ministry in that part of the Republic of Kosovo”, he added.

The Prime Minister showed Serbia and EU that any change in Kosovo borders would have similar consequences in all Balkan states.
