“We will not dialogue with anyone about the northern part of the country or
other issues regarding Kosovo interior order”, said the Prime Minister
Hashim Thaçi during a meeting of the Kosovo government.
This meeting was held right after the Prime Minister and other members of the government met with the EU mediator for the technical dialogue Kosovo-Serbia, Robert Cooper.
As for the limits of the dialogue with Serbia, which is the stance of the Kosovo government, the Prime Minister declared that he had notified Mr.Cooper during this meeting.
“The dialogue limits are: a full respecting of the Constitution and the Resolution of the Parliament, of the sovereignty and integrity of the country and Kosovo’s interior order will never be, at any circumstance, part of the dialogue. The interior order has been regulated by the Constitution, the laws and Ahtisari’s document”, Prime Minister Thaçi declared.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister answered to the voices in Serbia for a possible division of Kosovo. He declared that this would never happen, neither “de jure” nor “de facto”.
However, returning to the issue of the border, for Kosovo it means that this issue will be opened for the entire region, where every state has a problem that is called “Mitrovica”.
“Returning to the issue of Kosovo borders definitely means opening the border issues for the entire region, because every state in our region has a problem that is called Mitrovica. We want to open the borders, not to change them”, Thaçi added.
According to Prime Minister Thaçi, Kosovo has been very clear with the European agenda, and Brussels should be very specific with Kosovo.
“Europe has or doesn’t have states, there is no in between,” Thaci declared, adding that Kosovo is a state, because Europe doesn’t have semi-states.
