Thaci: No compromises against Kosovo

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, commented the political
dialogue that is expected to take place between Kosovo and Serbia.

During an interview for the daily “Kosova Sot”, he denied any compromise that is against the Kosovo state, but he is ready for affirmative respect of the minority communities.

“The debates for new compromises are ridiculous. Affirmative respect for the communities is not a compromise, but a value, a standard, something that our state and others in the region have not had. My commitment and responsibility will be everything that is related with the respecting of the Constitution, the laws and the European standards. Based on the Constitution, the laws and the European standards, if someone sees any compromise that is being made against Kosovo, it is merely political ignorance of the voices that have no political importance on the Kosovo public opinion and the international opinion. Furthermore, they have become a repetitive noise in the daily political life”, Thaci declared.

By warning that there will be a meeting with representatives of the Serbian state, the Prime Minister declared that Kosovo and their institutions don’t have a problem with the names or the ideological names in Serbia.

He says that the high level meetings could serve to improve the relations between the countries, and this has the strong support and appreciation of the EU and US.

“I was elected to represent the state of Kosovo. I have my constitutional and legal obligations. Naturally, a leader has the obligation to work and even in unpleasant personal, private, emotional or political circumstances. But he must fulfill his leal and constitutional obligations. I behave as the leader of a sovereign state, but a photograph with the Spokesperson of Miloshevic, or or te first aid of Shesheli or President Nikolic would not change the history of the past, the inspiration, the involvement or the direct genocide that they have committed in Kosovo”, Thaci declared in this interview.

Thaci also insinuated that he is not alone. According to him, the Kosovo institutions, the Government, the Parliament, the Presidency and even the Opposition have equal responsibilities.

“It’s good that Kosovo has a good and positive experience as regards the national cause, so that we can all come together despite our daily political differences”, he added.
