The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, is moving to secure MP votes
for the appointing of the new Parliament Speaker and for creating the
new government.

After the Constitutional Court declared that the election of the Parliament Speaker was against the Constitution, the acting Prime Minister met with the representatives of non-Serbian minorities in Kosovo, to see their readiness.

In the meeting with the Parliamentary Group “6+”, which has representatives from the Turkish, Bosnian and Roma minorities, Thaci declared that they agreed to cooperate for leaving this political stalemate behind, and added that his dedication will be that of a wide basis government.

Thaci said on Facebook that they see the Constitutional Court verdict as very clear and that needs to be respected.

After meeting with the MPs of Group 6+, Thaci met with other minority representatives, who expressed their readiness to cooperate for the creation of new institutions.

Top Channel has learned from government sources that in both meetings Thaci has taken support from minority MPs who have also said that they don’t want new elections.

The activization of Thaci has mobilized the post-electoral group LDK-AAK-Nisma, whose MPs met with the 6+ representatives to know about Thaci’s offer.

Sources from the minority groups have anonymously told Top Channel that they told both groups that they are ready for cooperation with whoever has the majority.
