Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The sixth round of the dialogue in Brussels ended with a verbal
agreement for dismantling the Serbian parallel structures in northern
Kosovo, as declared by Prime Minister Hashim Thaci.
“There were verbal disagreements for the full dismantling of all security structures and for the functionality of the justice system according to the Kosovo laws in the entire Kosovo territory. We can say that we are optimistic for a full normalization of the relations between the states of Kosovo and Serbia”, Thaci declared.
For the communes of Serbian majority, Thaci promised that every solution will be taken within the Kosovo laws and Constitution.
“Certainly, we discussed about the association of the communes with Serbian majority, in full accordance with the Kosovan laws and without any executive and legislative mandate, or with an Ahtisari plus. Everything will remain in full accordance with the Kosovo laws and the Eu standards”, Thaci underlined.
By the end of the meeting, Catherine Ashton declared that they achieved good progress in this meeting, while the work is still undergoing for the next meeting on March 20th, in Brussels.
Before the meeting
Before the meeting, representatives from the Kosovan institutions declared that they expect a normalization of the relations with Serbia. Speaker Jakup Krasniqi declared that he cannot prejudge the results of the sixth meeting, but the goal is that of the resolution.
The Democratic League of Kosovo asked the Prime Minister to defend the Kosovo Constitution and the Parliament Resolution.
“In this dialogue we expect what represents the Kosovo Republic and what protects it. This is what the Prime Minister is asking, nothing more or less”, declared Ismet Beqiri, chairman of the Parliamentary Group of LDK.
