The EU special envoy, Farid Zarif, arrived today in Kosovo.
The news came from the UNMIK administration through a press release that also published the experience of the special envoy.
According to this announcement, Farid Zarif is from Afghanistan and has previously worked as vice coordinator of the United Nations in Baghdad, during the 90s, as chief of UN staff in Iraq, and then following the same duty in Sudan.
He has also been a career diplomat in Afghanistan, where he has served as vice minister of Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Zarif has followed university studies for justice, diplomacy and international relations in the University of Kabul.
Until August 20th he has been director of the division for Europe and Latin America in the department of UN peacekeeping operations.
