Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The increased level of gases due to the green house effect is raising
the sea level and making the ice caps melt. These natural misbalances
are affecting our planet’s climate.
The average temperatures in Albania are increasing each year and land is being lost to the sea, reducing this way the quality of life in residential areas.
“We need to implement adopting measures to the climate changes, especially in the coastline, in order to face the damage of habitats, of the biodiversity and the quality of life in residential areas”, declared the Minister of Environment, Fatmir Mediu.
Climate and its caprices are affecting also the economy of many European countries. After a difficult winter we have a very hot and dry summer, which destroys crops and reduced production, affecting this way the economy of the population.
The climate will keep changing until 2025, making winters softer and summers longer and drier. The Balkans and Central Europe risk turning into half-desert areas, endangering crops and agriculture.
