The Albanian government has warned big businesses that hide salaries of their employees.
The Minister of Finances said that the data coming out of an operation against informality are alarming.
“42% of salaries from big companies are under 30.000 ALL, to evade the income tax. This is unacceptable”, the Minister said, adding that there will be an inspection and punishments for those who violate the law.
But is the government admitting that the progressive tax has encouraged tax evasion? For the opposition, this is the truth. But the Minister of Finances says that 2016 has brought 1.6 billion ALL more to the budget.
