Tavo: No smoking in public areas

02/08/2012 00:00

The task force that will implement the law against smoking in public
places has been reactivated again. The Health Minister, Vangjel Tavo,
declared that all bars that violate the law will be fined, since the
Health Ministry is committed to defend the public from the involuntary
exposure to tobacco smoke.

“There will be disciplinary measures against anyone that is not correct with the implementation of the law and especially for the Health Ministry representatives who abuse with the mandate for receiving bribes from the owners”, Tavo declared.

The task force will continue working until the creation of the State Inspectorate that covers the health area. “If health inspectors will abuse, they will face disciplinary measures”, Tavo declared.

Another task force will be established in cooperation with the ministries of Agriculture and Environment for controlling the illegal meat shops throughout the country. The necessity to control the meat selling points and the illegal cigarette smoking was emphasized yesterday at the Council of Ministers by Prime Minister Berisha.
