The implementation of the agreement between Greece, Albania and Italy
for the Trans Adriatic Pipeline is being discussed not only in the
economic plan, but also in the environmental one too.

TAP will bring Shah Deniz 2 natural gas from the Caspian Sea to Western Europe, passing through Albania. This could diversify the energy resources in our country, but what prints will it leave in our environment?

The Environment Minister, Fatmir Mediu, declared that the Ministry was attentive to avoid destroying protected areas that have values for the biodiversity and nature.

The English company expressed its readiness to contribute and join Albania  in this project, so that it can fulfil the international environmental requests and standards.

Minister Mediu informed British Petroleum representatives that Albania sees TAP project as one of the most ambitious projects in Albania, the construction of which would give Albania the possibility to be part of such a big project and infrastructure that will bring natural gas from Azerbaijan to Europe.
