After Italy, the Prosecution of Serious Crimes has asked another neighbouring country for assistance on the Habilaj-Tahiri case.
Secure confirmed for Top Channel that the Prosecution has sent a recommendation letter to the Greek authorities, while three former police officials, now on the run, wanted for drug traffic, are having their assets verified, as part of the anti-mafia law.
These actions come at a time when the investigation period for each of the suspects, including former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri, has been prolonged until these two states, Italy and Greece, give an answer.
Sources say for Top Channel that the three former police officials (the former Vlora Chief of Police, Jaeld Cela; former Chief of the Department Against Organized Crime, Gjergj Kohila; and the former Border Police Chief, Sokrat Bode), are part of the same case, including the Habilaj.
The former Vlora Chief of Police, according to the Prosecution, has supported and cooperated with criminal groups for cultivating and trafficking cannabis.
Gjergj Kolhia is suspected of having assisted drug cultivation in Vlora, while Sokol Bode has helped traffic it abroad.
Moisi Habilaj, according to the Prosecution, has cooperated with state police officers to traffic the drug abroad, according to sources.
