The Former Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, rejected accusations against him for being involved in the drug traffic. I expressed his readiness to cooperate with justice and find the real truth.

Tahiri presented a document from the Prosecution of Catania, which, according to him, acquits him of all charges.

“Today I am a common citizen. Within 48 hours I obtained this document from the Prosecution of Catania, which states that there has never been any criminal procedure against me. If the Prosecution of Catania has never found any connection, how is it possible that our Prosecution sent documents to media outlets, requesting my arrest?”, Tahiri declared.

The Socialist MP said that he is not the “Saimir” mentioned in the video surveillance.

“Was it so hard for the Prosecution to request this document? Was it so hard to understand that the Saimir mentioned in the surveillance was not me? How could I be the chief, the driver and also the transporter at the same time?”, Tahiri declared.

The former Minister stated that the Prosecution’s claims for him using his car after selling it are untrue.

“Doesn’t the Prosecution know that I had requested an investigation for my car in 2015? How is it possible that they have investigated for one year? I asked the Prosecution of Serious Crimes to hold an intensive investigation against me”, Tahiri declared.
