Tahiri dissolves Economic Crime Unit

The Interior Minister, Sajmir Tahiri, declared this Wednesday that the
police action for destroying the illegal gambling activities will
continue until the last gambling machine has been seized.
Tahiri declared that the few licensed companies will undergo very strict rules and frequent inspections.
“We have taken the first step for closing a social wound, the effects of which were a burden for the Albanian families’ budget. I thank that small minority that is represented by legal operators, who during a meeting with us accepted a strict regime that will be established in the market to stop illegality and for controlling their activity”, Tahiri declared.
The Interior Minister added that all Economic Crime Police Inspectors are being investigated for leaking information about the mission. Tahiri made even more extreme measures for this sector, by suspending every police officer that has worked so far in this directory.
“We decided to dissolve this section in every district. All agents will be suspended and investigated by the Interior Audit, State Police and the Interior Ministry. The investigation will also verify the wealth of everyone who has worked in these sectors”, Tahiri declared.
