Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The lawsuit of the Prime Minister’s children against the Socialist MP,
Saimir Tahiri, has entered a new phase. Tahiri asked the court to review
the case by accepting his evidence, with which he claims to prove his
innocence.
The opposition MP declared that the court should collect the evidence in the respective institutions, since the institutions have refused to grant him the evidence, saying that it is a jurisdiction of the court only.
He also asked the court to bring to court the witnesses he asked, including Shkelzen and Argita Berisha, Ministers Mediu and Bumci, considering as ridiculous the court’s verdict that they are unable to find their addresses.
He presented some of his evidence outside the courtroom, since the cameras were not allowed inside.
“I have here a document of Minister Aldo Bumci, addressed to Minister Fatmir Mediu, where he writes ‘for Mr. Shkelzen berisha’. This is an evidence for the time when the Gerdec ammunitions were being dismantled, and Shkelzen Berisha received faxes from Ministers. I have here the phone number of Delijorgji, who has called Shkelzen Berisha 30 minutes after the tragedy”, Tahiri declared.
The trial was followed by 20 opposition MPs and representatives of the civil society.
