The Albanian Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, took the Director for
Western Balkan and Enlargement at the British Foreign Ministry, Owen
Jenkins, for a visit in the village of Lazarat.
The Interior Ministry said that this visit was an opportunity to review the development capacities of this area through legal economic activities.
The British officials valued the Police operation in Lazarat, which, according to them, remoevs Albania from the black map of narcotics cultivation.
They saw closely some places where the narcotics used to be processed. The Lazarat residents asked Minister Tahiri to build a police office in Lazarat, which has not been existed for years.
