Serbia considers the recent events in Northern Kosovo as violence
against Serbs, and their politicians reacted by condemning the violence
in the area.

The Serbian President, Boris Tadic, declared for Tanjug that KFOR is there to protect unarmed citizens, not to fight them, and that the soldiers should be neutral in this moment.

Tadic appealed everyone to preserve calmness and declared that there is nothing that can justify the actions that KFOR undertook, accusing them of acting as Prishtina’s extended hand.

“I condemn the violence against the Serbian citizens, and appeal the international community to use get their troops to fight with the Serbian citizens in Northern Kosovo”, Tadic declared.

Different to Kosovo Media, Serbian news say that the recent clashes between KFOR and protesting Serbians have left six wounded with rubber bullets.

The Serbian Minister for Kosovo also declared that this doesn’t help peace and stability.

While the Interior Minister, Ivica Dacic, declared that this is a shame for the international community and that Serbia must urgently ask them to define their positions.

Opposition parties condemned the violence, but some of them also declared that Serbia must change its policy.
