Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Private hospitals don’t report STD cases at the Public Health Institution, which have become alarming, according to the latter.
Syphilis is the most alarming, according to the PHI, with 97 cases in 2012, and the number could be larger than reported.
“78% are women, and 20% are men”, says specialist Adela Vasili.
Syphilis that was disappeared has not turned into a concern for the health system, part of which are the private hospitals.
“There some kind of handicap in the law of infective diseases that will be reviewed, and Syphilis remain a major problem, only the tip of the iceberg, because this is an alarming bell for AIDS”, says Silva Bino, Head of the Infective diseases at the PHI.
This was discussed in a working group where was made the presentation of all studies carried and supported by UNFPA.
