Sweden: Status, more on justice and corruption

Sweden supports Albania for the EU candidate status, but the Swedish
officials ask for an independent justice system and war against
corruption.

This was confirmed to the Albanian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Edmond Haxhinasto, during a meeting held in Stockholm.

The Swedish Parliament Speaker asked the Albanian Foreign Minister that the courts must be independent and that war against corruption should continue.

While in the meeting with the Swedish Foreign Minister, Karl Bildt, the diplomats discussed about the relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Bildt declared that Sweden, as a permanent supporter of the EU enlargement, wants to see all Western Balkan countries as EU members. But he said that more advancement is needed in the EU integration agenda, in order to further reinforce the consolidation reforms and processes for the democracy of each aspiring country.

Haxhinasto and Bildt discussed about the recent developments in Kosovo and the Prishtine-Belgrade agreement.

After Sweden, the Foreign Minister continued his visit to Denmark.
