Suspicions for The Albpetrol sale

“There are physical losses with the oil production, which today is received 100% by the state, as a dividend.  Tomorrow, the state will receive only 20-30%, as taxes. The loss is extraordinary”, the former Deputy Minister declared.

Bello thinks that these favors to the companies are not by chance. He suspects that the 100% sale of a strategic asset is intended.

“On every other strategic privatization, such as the Energy Distribution and Albtelecom, the government has foreseen articles for the owners and the employees. Why is this case different? We are dealing with a favorite investor”.

According to Bello, the sale of Albpetrol is illegal, because the government is privatizing something that has been previously privatized.

“The law says that privatization is considered even when the asset is given for exploitation, as it has happened with the concessionary agreements. What are we selling, something that we have sold even before?”, Bello declared.

With the Albpetrol privatization, the government aims to sell every single asset, not only the wells, but also the concessionary agreements that this company currently holds with other companies.
